Botox for TMJ pain, headaches related to clenching & grinding:

Botox injections can be used as a treatment for TMJ disorder, a condition that causes pain, clicking, and stiffness in the jaw joint.

How it Works:  Botox is a neurotoxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles it is injected into. Benefits:

 All – on – X Implant treatment

 What Is the All-on-X Procedure?

The All-on-X procedure is a dental implant technique designed to replace an entire arch of missing or failing teeth. The “X” in the name refers to the customizable number of implants used, which typically ranges from four to six, depending on your specific needs. These implants act as sturdy anchors for a fixed prosthetic bridge, restoring your smile and functionality with a streamlined process.

Who Is a Candidate for the All-on-X Procedure?

The All-on-X procedure is ideal for individuals who:

  • Have multiple missing or failing teeth
  • Struggle with ill-fitting or uncomfortable dentures
  • Want a permanent solution that doesn’t require daily removal or adhesives
  • Have sufficient jawbone density to support implants (or are willing to undergo bone grafting if needed)

What Are the Benefits?

  • Permanent Solution: The All-on-X prosthetic is fixed securely, eliminating the need for removable dentures.
  • Improved Aesthetics: Custom prosthetics are designed to look and feel like natural teeth.
  • Restored Functionality: Enjoy eating, speaking, and smiling with confidence.
  • Preserved Bone Health: Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss and maintaining facial structure.
  • Fewer Implants, More Coverage: Using fewer implants to support a full arch reduces surgical complexity while still providing exceptional stability.

How Does It Work?

The All-on-X procedure is a transformative dental treatment performed in several stages to restore your smile and oral function. The journey begins with an initial consultation and planning phase. During this step, your periodontist conducts a thorough evaluation of your oral health, bone density, and overall suitability for the procedure. Advanced imaging technology is utilized to gather precise information, which aids in developing a personalized treatment plan tailored to ensure optimal results.

The next stage involves the implant placement. During a surgical appointment, titanium dental implants are strategically positioned in the jawbone. These implants are designed to fuse with the bone over time, creating a stable and robust foundation for your new teeth.

Following the implant placement, a temporary prosthetic is attached to the implants. This temporary restoration provides immediate functionality and aesthetics, allowing you to maintain a confident smile and enjoy basic oral functions while the implants heal and integrate with the jawbone.

The final step of the procedure is the final restoration. After a healing period, which typically lasts between three to six months, a custom-designed permanent prosthetic is securely affixed to the implants. This final restoration completes your smile transformation, offering a natural appearance and long-lasting durability.

Scaling Root Planing:

Also known as deep cleaning when you have pockets around your teeth and you are diagnosed with gum/periodontal disease or losing bone around teeth. Your dentist might refer you to us for deep cleaning which is generally the first step towards healthy gums/teeth. We anesthetize you and clean the pockets to get rid of tartar so that gums can reattach to the tooth.

Periodontal Maintenance:

Once you are diagnosed with gum\periodontal disease we recommend getting your cleanings every 3 months. After Dr. Joshi decides that you are doing a good job cleaning your teeth at home then we can alternate every 3 months with your referring dentist. Every appointment you get a doctor exam for free during periodontal maintenance.

Flap/Osseous Surgery:

Sometimes just doing the deep cleaning is not enough to get rid of the pockets around teeth in that case Dr. Joshi might recommend flap\osseous surgery to eliminate pockets and make it easy for you to maintain\clean those teeth.

Tissue Grafts:

Gum grafts are done around teeth to prevent further recession of gums or get the gum line back to the normal position on the tooth for cosmetic reasons. There are newer graft options available and we no longer need to take a piece of tissue from your palate. Dr. Joshi will discuss options with you that would provide the best results during the consult appointment.

Crown lengthening:

Decay\cavities can destroy a lot of tooth structure and your dentist might decide to fill the tooth and make a crown to save the tooth. If the decay, filling or crown margin goes below the gum level your dentist might refer you to us for crown lengthening surgery. By doing this procedure we make it easy for the dentist to do a crown on your tooth without causing any inflammation of the gum around the tooth.

Locate & Attach:

Children undergoing braces treatment might find out that some of their teeth are not erupting properly or causing damage to adjacent teeth. Your orthodontist might recommend you to see us so that we can surgically expose the tooth and put a button and chain on the tooth to help the orthodontist pull the tooth in the correct position.

Wisdom teeth  Extractions:

At Umpqua Periodontics & Implant we have a CBCT imaging machine that provides us with visibility around malpositioned, angulated wisdom teeth in 3D.
